Rocketry Fundamentals Workshop

NM Science Foundation offers rocketry workshops year round.

The City of Albuquerque formerly offered these workshops through Outdoor Recreation but cut their operating budget and no longer offers rocketry workshops.

Three kits are offered for workshops:

1. $10 – Estes Alpha (with parachute and “A” motor)

2. $5 – Estes Viking (with streamer and “A” motor)

3. $2 – Paper towel tube (with streamer and “A” motor)
   (participants requested to bring paper towel tubes)

Workshops require two hours for construction and science education.

Launches typically take an hour depending on number of participants.

Science education includes three short lessons on gravity, combustion, and electricity.

One assistant is required for each ten participants. Workshops limited to 30 participants.

Advance scheduling is required to ensure rocket kits are available.
